The services of Property Loss Consultants and Clerk of the Works® varies with each client, and from project to project. Some projects require a team of consultants and experts, each specializing in one area. In other projects, Property Loss Consultants and Clerk of the Works® work independently and report only to the Company that hired them. In all cases, consultants and Clerks collect, review, and analyze information in order to make recommendations back to the company that hired them.
Both public and private organizations use Property Loss Consultants and Clerk of the Works® Services for a variety of reasons. Some lack the internal resources needed to handle a project, while others need a third parties expertise to assist them during Catastrophe Situations and documentation pretaining to their property loss activities.
After obtaining an assignment or contract, the consultant and/or Clerk will first define the nature and extent of the Property Loss. During this phase, they analyze relevant data related to the loss and meet with each company that is working on the project and create critical validation reports while observing their operations. The consultants and/or Clerk also work to develope plans and cost control measures by implementing an onsite clerk to monitor and validate the work in progress. While preparing their recommendations, they take into account the nature of the loss, the methodology of the work being performed, price analysis, and create comparisons to validate rates, burdens, etc.
Another common service is billing validation, in this case the client will send us a billing provided to the client for the services rendered by a Contractor. We will perform a line item validation audit and other forensic measures using our proprietary software and report back to the client with supported recommendations.
